Longji, China

Longji was possibly my most favorite stop in the China tour - a mountain village known for its rice terraces.

We had the chance to spend a night a mountain-top cottage within the village. I had my most favorite meal here - rice cooked in bamboo with tofu, bell peppers and eggplant in a spicy tomato sauce - wish I asked for the recipe because no matter how many times I try to recreate it, its not the same.

To get a top the mountain is a very long trek, especially if you decide to carry your luggage up yourself. From the bus station, we took a shuttle to the base of the mountain. The road is very narrow and windy, so if you easily get motion-sickness, sit in the front! The base to the top of the mountain was lined with shopkeepers selling bags, paintings, clothes, and spices.
